RN Cassandra Trower makes Tidewell Difference for patient’s important flight

Congratulations to Cassandra Trower, RN, the June Tidewell Difference Award winner. Her nomination, made by a colleague, explains how Cassandra made a difference for a patient and family in need while working in Triage.

“Cassandra was working in the evening answering the phones for the Triage team when she received a call from a distraught caller. The caller was a family member of a Tidewell patient. The patient and family were at an airport being denied access to a booked flight due to medical equipment that was not accepted on that airline. Cassandra worked for two hours collaborating with a different airline, and the family was granted access to an emergent flight. This patient was going to another state to be with family at the end of life, and time was critical.”

Cassandra was recognized by CEO Gerry Radford at the Lakewood Ranch administrative office with a certificate, a special Tidewell Difference pin, a $50 gift card and one day of personal leave.

Nominations for the Tidewell Difference Award are accepted at any time and can be made using the form posted on Happenings. Nominations should be based on specific action(s) taken by a colleague that demonstrates one or more Tidewell Core Values.
