Grief Support for Tidewell Hospice Families

Tidewell Hospice provides 13 months of grief support services, free of charge, to family members of Tidewell’s patients after their loss. These services are made possible and supported by the Tidewell Foundation. Tidewell grief counselors are highly trained and specialize in grief support. Individual sessions, support groups, workshops and special events are available across the Tidewell service area. Services are provided in person, by phone and remotely to best meet the needs of the family member.

Service locations include Ellenton, Lakewood Ranch, West Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, Englewood/North Port and Port Charlotte. Those requesting services may choose their location and how services will be delivered.

Community Grief Services

Tidewell Grief Care provides grief counseling to anyone touched by grief in Southwest Florida (Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and DeSoto counties) free of charge. Includes counseling for children and adults, those who have experienced traumatic deaths, received a diagnosis of a serious illness and perinatal loss.

Tidewell Family Grief Center

The Tidewell Family Grief Center in Ellenton delivers hope, healing and improved mental health for those coping with loss throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties. The Center provides all-encompassing grief care for children and adults free of charge. The Blue Butterfly children’s grief program has dedicated specially-designed spaces for “Littles” (ages 5-8), “Middles” (ages 9-12), “Tweens” (ages 11-14) and “Teens” (ages 15-18) with age-specific programming.

The outdoor space is as special as the inside. There are beautiful gardens to explore and future plans including a labyrinth and basketball court. Learn more how you can contribute to these new facilities at the Grief Center.
